Zero Point: A 360 degree film for Oculus Rift

We didn’t do this one, but we’re excited about it nonetheless.

Imagine, for the first time, stepping inside a movie and being able to control the point of view by looking in any direction you want.

I’m sure the first wave of films seen through this device will be Imax-style nature spectacles. But imagine this with true narrative film. Maybe a murder mystery. Will you experience a whole different story from the person beside you?

The only experience I can think of that comes close is Mike Figgis’ four-split-screen Timecode several years back. And that’s by a long shot.

Sound interesting? Keep your eye on the Oculus Rift (pun intended) and start thinking beyond video games. There are some amazing opportunities here for storytelling, and we can’t wait to jump in with both feet.
